For parents of sensitive children who find school emotionally challenging
Your child does not always feel emotionally comfortable at school
Your child may struggle to connect with others, come home overstimulated or upset, worry about what others think, or often tell you about difficult situations in class. This affects you as a parent and can leave you increasingly worried too.
In this programme, you learn how to offer warm and steady support at home. The aim is not to remove every difficult feeling, but to help your child understand emotions, process experiences and gradually build confidence.
Do you recognise this in your child?
You may not be able to pinpoint exactly what is happening, but you notice that school asks a great deal of your child.
- Your child thinks a lot about what other people think.
- They struggle to connect or feel insecure in social situations.
- They are easily hurt by what other children say or do.
- After school, your child is very tired, emotional, irritable or withdrawn.
- Your child often seeks reassurance or does not want to talk about school.
- They regularly talk at home about difficult situations in class.
- Your child is sometimes reluctant to go to school.
Because you sense your child so well, it affects you too
You want to listen, comfort, think along and protect your child. That is completely understandable. At the same time, strongly sharing the worry can unintentionally make the situation feel too big for your child to learn to handle.
The coaching is not about becoming less involved. You learn to acknowledge feelings without making them bigger and to provide calm, confident guidance when your child is having a hard time.
What you do at home can support your child at school
You cannot control what other children do or how every school day unfolds. At home, however, you can help your child to:
- recognise, understand and process feelings;
- explore and practise social situations together;
- share experiences without feeling that something is wrong with them;
- discover: this was difficult, but I can learn to handle it;
- trust themselves and ask for appropriate help.
This makes home a safe place to practise and gives your child skills they can also use at school.
A personal three-session parent coaching programme
The conversations are tailored to your child, your family and the situations that arise around school.
Session 1 — Understanding what is happening
We explore what you see at home, which situations are difficult, how your child expresses feelings and how you respond.
You gain clarity about what your child needs now and where you can make a difference at home.
Session 2 — Helping your child at home
You learn to have conversations in which your child feels heard and can also grow.
We practise questions and responses that help with insecurity, sadness, anger, overstimulation and difficult social situations.
Session 3 — Strengthening confidence and resilience
You discover what kind of support suits your child, what place your own emotions can have and how to offer both protection and room to grow.
This allows you to stand beside your child with greater calm and confidence.

Working with the school remains important
This programme focuses on what you can do at home. If there is ongoing unsafety, bullying or concern about your child's wellbeing, communication with the school and, where appropriate, a suitable professional remains important.
From worrying about your child to trusting what you can do
You do not have to make the world easier for your child. You can help your child learn to handle difficult feelings and situations — with your presence, words and confidence as a steady foundation.
